2 is 1 - Rushing Down The AislePosted by {H} creatives (San Francisco Bay Area, United States) on 29 June 2007 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. Thanks to what I know call the "inspiration circle" - that's all of you - for your encouraging comments. It is amazing the inspiration that I receive in return from all of you collectively as I come by and revisit your p-blogs. Maybe someday, we're going to be in some history book that tells a story on how a bunch of folks from all over the world share precious moments globally in an instant - from Kuala Lumpur to Iran, France and Singapore, from the UK to the US, and many countless other countries - thanks to this thing called the internet and the folks at AM3! B-) This is the 6th installment of the "Two Shall Become One" series. This set is dedicated to a pro p-blogger friend (read story here). Taken from the same Wendy's wedding, this is a shot I took of the flower girl as she passed across the aisle. My previous post of Wendy's event involved experimentation with lens-zooming effect, and candid from afar. On this one, I tried to do a bit of panning to show movement, and a bit of motion dynamics. Not sure if I achieved what I had in my head, but this was the best of many other more miserable failed attempts. B-) What do you guys think? Thanks again for coming by. Give me some time, but I will surely come revisit yours soon! Cheers'nBlessings....B-)

Wendy from Hayward, United StatesHm, when you do panning, are you also walking the same speed as Yohanna or are you standing still? Cuz it makes a different.... She's so cute! 29 Jun 2007 6:37am Inés from Namur, BelgiumFantastic, I really love this shot. the expression, the motion, the composition, the B&W ... all !!! 29 Jun 2007 8:20am jc from Galway, Irelandlove the b/w treatment and how she is perfectly positioned in the frame..wonderful shot 29 Jun 2007 8:25am ColNed Pictures from Amersfoort, NetherlandsWhat a great capture of motion. Very nice shot. 29 Jun 2007 8:40am HorseRotorVator from Newton, United StatesAwesome capture!!!! I just wish you would post a picture everyday!!! I hate days when I don't get to see your mastery! :) 29 Jun 2007 9:55am Scene by Sharon from CanadaHer expression is priceless - and you got it! Great job! 29 Jun 2007 9:57am Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesYou've ccaptured the busy angel inside this child's soul. She's beautiful. Your photo tells the tale. Blessings, mon ami. 29 Jun 2007 10:51am Jason Kravitz from Brussels, BelgiumGreat commentary - I like your term Inspiration Circle and the fact that you appreciate what we've created with Am3 :) This community works because of the great people who have come to call this place their home. Great image too - you've captured some nice motion - looks like she is traveling down the aisle at full speed ! 29 Jun 2007 11:23am Suby from Milton keynes, United KingdomWonder where she was "rushing" to? LOL Suby 29 Jun 2007 11:36am jump from Strasbourg, FranceLovely little girl.... I really like the movement effect. Great :)) 29 Jun 2007 12:17pm Ginnie from Atlanta, GA, United StatesSo priceless; so ethereal. A moment caught in fleeting time of an event that stood still for the wedding couple. I love that mystery. And I do like being part of the Inspiration Circle. You are so right. It, too, is like a mystery! 29 Jun 2007 1:23pm tengtan from Melbourne, AustraliaAnd another fine BW candid. Looks like some panning with an apt blurred background. 29 Jun 2007 1:45pm Bob Israel from Brookfield, WI, United StatesWonderful action shot here and B&W works best for this kind of image. Well done. 29 Jun 2007 1:56pm tyan from Singapore, Singaporehey henry! The girl is very sweet looking!I like her pretty dress, something i may never get to buy for my kids!haha! We do wish for girls, lol. 29 Jun 2007 2:43pm Seraphine from San Francisco, United StatesI think the photo is darling. At her age, it is so much fun being the flower girl. But too, the world is a bit confusing at that age. She knows intuitively the importance of the moment. You captured that look perfectly. 29 Jun 2007 2:50pm elaine from Francelovely she already looks like a bride! blur is good!! u make me feel liek posting a blurry shot too!!! 29 Jun 2007 2:51pm Rohan from Atl, United Stateslovely little kid. black and white and the blur you have chosen work wonderful here. awesome snap! 29 Jun 2007 2:57pm don from spokane, United StatesA wonderful shot of this beautiful youngster. I like the blur which conveys such a fine sense of action. Very nicely done. 29 Jun 2007 3:00pm armin from Berlin, Germanyhey, your pics are like a moment of bw dreaming, 29 Jun 2007 3:02pm Images by KC Photography from Redmond, United StatesNice shot. Usually I don't like this kind of effect, but it works well with this picture. 29 Jun 2007 3:06pm Stunner from Kingston, JamaicaGood experiment, it worked. It looks as if she is really hurrying down the isle. 29 Jun 2007 3:07pm Johnny Soedomo from United Statesnice shot!! indeed she looks like she's rushing :) 29 Jun 2007 3:22pm MaryB from United KingdomThe little girls expression is wonderful, bless her she's so cute. I love the effect that the blur gives to this capture.....Fantastic! :) 29 Jun 2007 5:03pm Behrooz from Tehran, IranI love that innocent look on her face. That's a great catch with the feel of movement. 29 Jun 2007 5:09pm Kody Whiteaker from Pullman, United StatesI like this picture, but I think it would be alot more effective by itself. I t shouldn't be part of this series, in my opinion. The other images all show a typical wedding(laughing, smiling faces, general happiness), but this image doesnt really relate. And I know that alot of people have commented on her expression being priceless, but to me she honestly looks hopelessly confused, like somebody just told her to run down the aisle 5 seconds beforehand. I like some of your work alot. The picture with the newborn and the new parents hand.....priceless moment that will never happen again. An amazing picture. Always hold yourself to the highest standard you can. 29 Jun 2007 6:52pm Candace from Emmaus, United StatesHow adorable....a very nice capture of her. I love the motion surrounding her. 29 Jun 2007 6:53pm Dylan from Delhi, United StatesI like the motion. I tried a shot like this of a girl on a bike a couple weeks ago. Its hard to do, but you pulled it off well. 29 Jun 2007 7:49pm Florian from Paris, FranceNice instant, with a lot of innocence. 29 Jun 2007 8:22pm bronzebilly u.k. from cardiff, United Kingdomhey {H}--the image works well for me in the fact that the kid's face shows the motion blur and adds itself to the background blur, merging the 2 together--jeez where did that come from???--glad to be enrolled as a member of the "circle"--billy 29 Jun 2007 10:43pm Shiva from Kajang, Malaysiablurring effect has to be understood and appreciated.. here you have done really well in freezing the moment.. many would not understand why the picture is not clear or blurred, but it takes an artistic mind to interpret it. Well done H. 30 Jun 2007 1:55am Shuva Brata Deb from Hyderabad, IndiaDont have much to say differently than all the comments above. 30 Jun 2007 6:11am Barbro / Picturecave from SwedenI really like the motion blur created by the panning, a very nice effect. Lovely expression on the cute little girls face! 30 Jun 2007 11:19am Craiger from Vacaville, California, United StatesI think it is great experimentation! Keep up the good work! 30 Jun 2007 11:48am Mehdi from Rasht, IranHello, {H} very very good ... 30 Jun 2007 3:15pm hamidreza from Tehran, IranThis cutie became eternal in this dynamic shot. Very nice. 30 Jun 2007 3:27pm Shrig from United StatesFantastic photo! I love the backgroud, giving her the running look (or maybe she can go that fast! ;)) - and maybe we will go down in history :) I think that's why I love this site so much, its a bunch of strangers from all over the globe with one thing in common- photography. And whether our pics are great that day or not so great another, its all about talking about photos and the comradery. I love it here. It's never mean or cruel. A great photographer offers advice to someone who hasn't done it for so long. I find it to be very peaceful and non-judgemental, which given in today's world is quite hard to find. I think as far as the internet goes, this blogging place is my haven. Looking at other people's ideas and what others are expirencing behing the camera is inspiring, to say the least. Anyway, sorry for the long message. Hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by and for you wonderful comments! 30 Jun 2007 3:34pm Will Williams from Bailey, United StatesThe blur creates a fabulous sense of movement. Combined with the expression on the girls face, great shot :) 30 Jun 2007 4:35pm Cathie et Michel from Paris, Franceelle est vraiment très joli cette petite fille, adorable poupée..... 30 Jun 2007 5:34pm Rags from Plano, United StatesId like to say aaaaaw! or cute kiddie! but i will let every one else say that. I on the other hand have a comment. taking these kinds of shots are hard. I have tried shooting them and i have learnt that when i want this kind of shot, i usually shoot the subject as many times as i can. Eventually i have one pic out of 5 that has the subject non blurry and everyone else as blurry as heck. So what am i trying to say? I like the pic. It says a lot, its like the girl is gliding down the isle. Hope the pic came out like you envisioned it. 30 Jun 2007 5:57pm josef from SwedenBeautiful! I'm subscribing to your feed from now on. Thanks for commenting on my site.. 30 Jun 2007 6:12pm Maarten from Brussels, Belgiuminteresting shot : everything blurry, except for the girl... Thanks for your comment on my site ! 30 Jun 2007 7:39pm Michel [Une photo, vite et reviens tard] from Cergy, (near Paris), FranceVery sweet little girl, perhaps lost in all these people?... 30 Jun 2007 7:56pm Tanja from Germanyyou really enjoy processing your pics in motion eh?! 30 Jun 2007 10:52pm allyy`* from Singapore, Singaporei'm so thankful that with the internet, the boundaries between us all are so much lesser (: we can always learn from each other huh :D seeing the world through so many different peoples eyes is always an amazing thing. (: you're pretty inspirational yourself you know! :D haha! 1 Jul 2007 8:55am Bron from Canberra, AustraliaThanks for visiting my site {H} creatives - it's certainly encouraging for us to be able to share pictures of our lives around the world - our diversity and similarity. This photo says so much about the solemn intent of the little girl. Well caught. 1 Jul 2007 12:59pm Kheoh Yee Wei from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysiawell, would have been even better if the little gal was more clearer and the rest in motion blur.nevertheless,i can feel the atmosphere and emotions intended from this image and thanks for that ! Cheers. 1 Jul 2007 2:01pm clarence from Irving, Texas, United StatesShe is delivering some important documents! The blur shows action! 1 Jul 2007 2:53pm Celialee from Kyoto, JapanShe is adorable! I think everyone had said what I wanted to say about this picture! 1 Jul 2007 3:13pm Dawn Sutherland from Phoenix, United StatesH, I love the movement that is portrayed here. Personally I do not mind that she is not clearly in focus, that adds to the movement. The only thing for me that would have made this shot spectacular would be if you could have caught this same shot but with her smiling as she was running but sometimes we can't get everything we hope for. 2 Jul 2007 2:05pm lemmingstone from Newcastle, AustraliaI think you did pretty well here and achieved what you set out to do. Perfect BW 17 Jul 2007 12:07pm Soph from Enghien, BelgiumSo many comments! This photo deserves them! Wonderful expression and wonderful movement! I like it! It's a pity that there is no way to choose favorites pictures in the galeries of the community (something like in flickr) 24 Jul 2007 7:54am |
