Hello! Thanks again to all of you - the "inspiration circle" - for your encouraging comments. There were a couple of constructive critiques as well that I will take into consideration as I build up my portfolio (see story here as to why I'm doing it).
This is the 7th installment of the "Two Shall Become One" series. This set is dedicated to a pro p-blogger friend - whom I have known for years - as these last few images were taken during her wedding (read story here).
This scene was captured rather unexpectedly. As the ceremony began, the little "rushing" flower girl may have begun to realize that those little petals on the ground might be stomped upon, and thought, "Oh, that's not a very nice thing to do to them." So, she decided to run back out to the aisles and save them [and brought the calvary along]!!! lol. I'm sure this happens quite a lot in weddings, but I thought the spontaneity of the moment was priceless, after all, that is what photography is all about isn't it?
That's what photography is to me: it's about capturing the moment - not so much the composition, the gear, the post processing, or whether it was a "bad" picture or a "good" picture [all of which are important but they are somewhat relative and subjective] - but the instant of time that was captured to be cherished many times over and shared, that to me is the most important. And now with the advent of photoblogs like AM3, we can share them with people around the world . (Thanks Jason and Aaron for building up a foundation for "inspiration circles"! It is appreciated) B-)
Next post - new couple!
Hope all of you had a wonderful weekend! B-) I will "see" you soon in your p-blogs. Cheers...
Excellent candid shot!

I agree with you about photography capturing the moments, but as far as it not being about composition so much I can agree and disagree, because you have such a natural eye for it that you have the whole package.

You don't need half of this talent to make money, and now that you have more than two halves, you better start thinking of where the money is. I am serious... you are exceptionally good. Call me and let's talk. By the way, this is a stunner.

I entirely aggree with you: the moment is the most important thing. And when a special moment "meets" a special way of looking we have this kind of result: a special and beautiful photo.
2 Jul 2007 3:14pm
Beautiful shot... i quite agree with you on these lines....
"That's what photography is to me: it's about capturing the moment - not so much the composition, the gear, the post processing, or whether it was a "bad" picture or a "good" picture [all of which are important but they are somewhat relative and subjective] - but the instant of time that was captured to be cherished many times over and shared, that to me is the most important" ...
It seems like you have articulated my thoughts!!!! thank you.

Another great shot! I like the angle and contrast of this photo.
2 Jul 2007 7:37pm
I love moments like these. I think at weddings, something always goes "wrong" (which is to say unexpected or unplanned), and those moments often become the most cherished and remembered.
