Hello, Inspiration Circle!
Thank you for each one of your feeback on my last post - I do read and appreciate each one. B-)
I realized from my last post that unconventional post-processing for weddings may not be commercially viable...lol. B-) One of the comment that I received that made me come to this realization is how fellow p-blogger "imagesbykc" thought that my last post was a building on fire! B-) Oh, well...so much for experimentation.
But as an encore to my b/w wedding series [as prompted by fellow p-blogger Anthony on this post], I decided to continue on my theme of "over-saturated sepia". And I'll try to focus more on the atmosphere / mood of the event itself and diversify from the more conventional "bride and groom" pics. Taken from the same Felix and Priscilla wedding at The Mansion, this shot was taken from the "grassy" aisle leading to the outdoor altar.
Again, not sure if these types of shot would make it to any wedding album...B-), or if there is even a market out there for these types of post-processing for wedding albums. But it's sure worth a try to get all of your feedback. Let me know what you think? Should I revert back to b/w? B-)
I shall be re-visiting you on your p-blogs shortly, and thanks for continuing to be the Inspiration Circle!
'Til then, Cheers! B-)
This o-s rendition has much impact and combined with the shallow DoF has highlighted the main floral subject in the foreground. Creative experiment i.e. living up to your name. :)

I like this one more than yesterday's which reminded me of a meteorite impact ;-). But I think today's photo is really great. There's not such a big "wow"-effect in it but it's a shot which makes you calm and gives plenty of room for wedding memories. It's a kind of "stage" or "background" for your own fantasy. Very well done!

I agree with dee on this one, the point of view here is great, lovely shot.

I don't know how you do it pal. You just have an extrordinary eye for things and make everything look perfect. :)

How to make an interesting photo of a non interesting subject? Ask {H} creatives ! Good work!
13 Jul 2007 5:03am
Very interesting indeed! Impressive all in all!
13 Jul 2007 5:12am
I like the effect. But the highlights on this particular shot are a bit too blown out for my taste. I really like the series so far.
13 Jul 2007 6:51am
Love the perspective...and the sepia. Lovely shot
13 Jul 2007 7:29am
oh excellent! only thing is that the mood seems more akin to a horror movie than a wedding!!
13 Jul 2007 7:47am
Great angle/perspective!
13 Jul 2007 7:50am
I like this unconventional picture where all is said..It's the eye of the photograph here!

Nice post-processing , give kind of mysterious mood.... But have to say.. encore fotos would normally not fit in for a commercial wedding album.... guess there is where your B&W fotos works better... U have used sepia to create a totally different mood but guess if u want these over-saturated fotos for commercial wedding album, might need to bring in a more smoothing mood... and if there is no bride or groom in the foto... maybe have to use the foto to create a romantic mood... As like i remember hearing this saying, photography is a form of art... so for ppl esp ur future clients if u really go pro to appreciate your post-processing, guess u need to be using different thinking perspective to make sure the atmosphere u portrait through the photo... ah.... think i am too long-winded.. not sure if i am really making full sense or if u can understand fully... hope u dun mind. :)

13 Jul 2007 10:45am
beautiful image, just wish it weren't that blown out. super angle!

I love these warm colors and I think all is viable for all type of photographs when the photographer make them with honesty.
13 Jul 2007 5:14pm
Nice point of view and composition, beautiful tones!
13 Jul 2007 7:47pm
This picture tells a story. That is what all good pictures should do. "A grand time was had by all" is what I read. Nicely composed and well presented.
13 Jul 2007 7:57pm
very very nice ......looks like a camera angle they would use in a movie .......awesome shot !
13 Jul 2007 8:21pm
Nice perspective but I must say not the kind of mood/tones I would have in my wedding album :). I've been so irregular but I have something special for tomorrow so please do visit.
13 Jul 2007 8:45pm
Oh,i love this shot Henry!I like the way the petals are being focused and the fence and all 'BLUR' in contrast..oops..:)
13 Jul 2007 8:53pm
Beautiful!
13 Jul 2007 9:26pm
Nice perspective. Okay.... now let's see... Uncle Bob has had too much to drink and he was supposed to take the pictures at the wedding... but he dropped the camera while searching for his car keys and ... that's the result... No, I am just kidding. It is a good shot, in the same dramatic vein as the previous picture. Now, getting married is a traumatic event sometimes, isn't it?

Tena koe ehoa Theres something about it that I find exhilerating? I'm not sure I'd associate it with a wedding but because of the vacancy of celebrants, nonetheless it has a photographic attraction in it's post production quality.

j'adore la couelur que tu as utilisé
13 Jul 2007 11:53pm
i think the colour works well. it's a different feel from normal pictures :) which i suppose was what you were going for! hahaha.
14 Jul 2007 12:07am
i really love this shot. the warm colors and situation of the picture is perfect.
14 Jul 2007 1:22am
Nice DOF...
14 Jul 2007 3:50am
thanks for the encouragement... have been observing your photographs and have been delighted... you have an exceptional sense for the mood of an environment, rather than the environment itself... this, in my humble opinion, infuses your photographs with your own sense of character, rather than just leave them as snapshots of a particular event or entity... great work, keep 'em coming... PS: you seem to be equally adept at both sepia and B&W, so i guess you can play ball with whatever you are more comfortable with!
14 Jul 2007 4:38am
I really like the colours, grass does not have to be green all the time... This one would definitly make it to my weddding album!
Kind regards, Lu mik spastiek

Hi {H}, as ususal a very creative and mood-inspiring photo. I personally prefer the black and white images, but perhaps it is because they included people. Do you have any in sepia which include people? If you do, I would be very interesting in seeing one so I could make an accurate comparision. You are a very talented photographer, your sense of angle and mood are wonderful - keep up the exceptional work!
14 Jul 2007 6:21am
i dont know...i think u could pull off the toning (with success) in the last one because there was a clear separation of highlights and shadows...lighting is more subtle in this one and so the oversaturated tone doesnt suit the mood all that well...but experimenting is the only way to learn and i hope theres more to come..
14 Jul 2007 8:39am
I like the tonal contrast - stark white and deep sepia {H}! Nice dof. Keep playing around pal!

14 Jul 2007 5:52pm
It took a while for me to warm up to the colours on this image. I do like the framing and angle though - the two are very suggestive.
14 Jul 2007 9:41pm

16 Jul 2007 4:17am
A never seen before perspective...and i appreciate your efforts fro trying it out. Will it make to anyone's wedding album is anyone's guess though!!! I thought people liked happy, vibrant Pics on their wedding albums but am sure there are many out there who appreciate different perspectives too :)
16 Jul 2007 9:55am
I like it. I wish I had some photos processed like these of my wedding. But then again I don't think it is such a great idea for the groom to be taking his own wedding photos. Well done.
17 Jul 2007 6:44am
