My Precious - Peace Be With You

My Dear Friends of the Inspiration Circle,

Thank you always for being such a source of encouragement. I apologize in advance if as of late this has become more of a "novel" more than a p-blog. B-) It has become some what of a therapeutic mechanism for the chaos in my life as your words and comments have not only allowed me to focus on continuing my photographic endeavor, but more importantly have become a source of sustenance for my faith. A poem and comment posted by MaryB on my last post brought me to tears (thank you, MaryB - I was so moved by it I decided to post the same poem on my Facebook account and is circulating the social-networking-world-wide-web at hyperspeed - I hope you don't mind). And a profound "one-liner" posted here by Craiger actually prompted me to write the words I am about to share.

I have always looked forward to the Christmas season. As a young child, my sisters and I were exposed to the age-old tradition of celebrating this season with "Sinterklaas and Swarte Piet" (the Dutch version of Santa Claus that comes with a "companion" who goes down the chimney for him). It was a time of lighted and decorated Christmas Trees, of gift exchanges, of Christmas Eve gatherings attended by families and friends alike. And the highlight of the season, of course, was the "midnight opening of gifts". But as I grew older, I realized that it isn't this glitzy buzzing of lights and shopping that the true Christmas season is all about. It is about the Peace that came on one silent night, quietly celebrating the birth of one miraculous baby called Jesus.

So it is that Peace that I long and pray for this season. In this day and age of unruly wars, death, destruction, jealousy and bloodshed...I cry out for Peace. I sometimes could not fathom why we as a race cannot set our differences - religious, political, or otherwise - and realize that this window of time we call life on this Earth is but mere vapors as one ancient wise King once said. We are travelling souls given the opportunity to breathe this air only for but a brief moment - should we not use it to bring a positive impact and to reach out to others that have come across our path...not at all unlike what AM3 and all of you have done to me and my life? B-)

And as I gaze upon the picture of Innocence that is my daughter, Keshia Evangeline, I can't help but feel the swelling of warm tears in my eyes - silently praying that her life will be enveloped by this Peace, not convoluted by the pollution of revenge, envy, bitterness and anger that fuels the state of the world we currently live in.

So as I write and post this today seeking for that same Peace, my Dear AM3 Friends, it is my prayer to all of you that this season brings blessed moments to be cherished, and may the Peace that goes beyond understanding follow you in the new year '08 and beyond....

Peace be with you...until we "meet" again as I revisit you in return...

Cheers'nBlessings - {H}
